Tauranga Waterfront Stage 1
Client: HEB Construction
Location: Tauranga
Project Cost: $250K - $500K
Completion Date: January 2025
At Jagas, we’re proud to have contributed to the transformation of the Tauranga Moana Waterfront, supplying high-quality precast concrete elements for the recently completed Stage 001 (North).
This first stage is a major step forward in delivering the Tauranga Moana Waterfront Masterplan—a long-term vision developed by LandLAB to reconnect the city with Te Awanui / Tauranga Harbour. Through design themes like Reconnect (Hononga), Repair (Rāwekeweke), Repurpose (Hangarua), Renature (Tāmata), and Regenerate (Whakarito), the project is bringing new life to Tauranga’s city centre.
Jagas was responsible for manufacturing and supplying:
Custom Precast Tidal Steps – Designed to gently meet the harbour, these steps provide safe public access to the water while blending beautifully into the natural landscape.
Modular Seating – Precast seating units placed along the new Waterfront Promenade, offering functional and stylish resting points for locals and visitors alike.
Stage 001 introduces a flexible open lawn, a new sea wall, and the first stretch of the Waterfront Promenade—all designed to support community events, recreation, and everyday enjoyment of the water’s edge. The living seawall concept, featuring eco-habitat units and benches, is a standout feature that invites marine life to return and thrive.
Working alongside Tauranga City Council, architects, and engineers, we ensured every precast element was delivered to spec, on time, and built to last. We’re proud to contribute to a project that brings long-term value to the community.
