Paver Installation on Raised Paver Supports

Jagas Paving, in association with Maccaferri NZ Ltd, is pleased to announce that the company's paving range may be laid on approved paver supports (deck jacks) in situations where installation on mortar is unsuitable.

Typically this is because access is required beneath the paving - to a waterproof membrane for example.

The support system approved by Jagas is the Maccaferri VersiPave system which is now in wide use in New Zealand and well understood by paving installation contractors. It comprises an adjustable paver support (top image) which can be broken in half or quarters for edges and corners.

Garden Design School

We have completed the first Design Your Own Garden course at The Garden Design School, with course participants all preparing concept plans for their own gardens, and we are now part-way through term 4 classes.

Everyone seems to be thoroughly enjoying the experience of these classes. Our courses assist people in designing their own gardens, with the help of an experienced landscape designer. These courses are held in the Auckland suburb of Grey Lynn one morning or evening a week and run for 8 weeks during the school term.

Heart of Beach Haven project

Robyn Laurenson reports that LandscapeWorks has been engaged to prepare the working drawings for the Rangatira Gateway to Beach Haven.

She says, "The first thing they pointed out was that our conceptual ideas would come in well over the budget allocated by North Shore City Council! We rapidly had to rethink our priorities for this project."

LIANZ conference & awards

Landscape Industries Association conference and awards

Last month Robyn Laurenson from Laurenson Landscape Design attended the Landscape Industries Association of New Zealand Conference and Awards Dinner in Dunedin. These events are always a highlight of the year, providing great networking opportunities and plenty of inspiration.

One of the highlights for Robyn was the keynote speech given by Michael Hill. At 73 he still has a 30 year goal! He is passionate about his work, goal setting, and moving forward, and has no plans ever to retire. He was a real inspiration.
